The 20th edition of the CUISINE WEEK: NYORA (sweet red pepper) & KING PRAWN in Guardamar del Segura is approaching. From June 3rd to 9th, El Jardín Restaurant will offer, a special menu.

The cuisine of Guardamar del Segura has become a fundamental heritage for its tourism development. El Jardín Restaurant aims to promote the local cuisine, which is considered a cultural and sensory experience not to be missed by visitors. The NYORA pepper and the King prawn of Guardamar will shine during this special week that you can’t miss.
The King prawn of Guardamar
The King prawn of Guardamar is a seasonal product, fished between mid-May and late August. It is raised on the beach, and the fishermen are responsible for its maintenance and preservation as an exclusive product, maintaining tradition and respecting the teachings of their ancestors. It is a prawn with firm flesh and bluish tones on the tail, making it easily identifiable. It is the star product of the Fishermen’s Guild, and at the auction held at the Fish Market, it is sold directly to the consumer.
The NYORA pepper of Guardamar
The NYORA pepper of Guardamar is a product that has been cultivated in the municipality since ancient times and is fully established in the area. Many farmers cultivate it and manage to make it profitable through effort and hard work. The uniqueness of the NYORA pepper lies in its traditional, slow drying process on fine dune sand, in a natural drying tunnel, using only the heat generated by the sun and avoiding any artificial heat sources. It is rotated daily to ensure even drying and to preserve its aromas and flavors intact. This traditional system sets it apart from other NYORA peppers dried in ovens.
